Who We Are
A loaf of Sara Lee left on the counter by her roommate for over two months motivated her. A tastier loaf enticed her. When Elizabeth started baking bread in 2009 as a college sophomore, all she desired was to create a more flavorful bread with ingredients she knew. In 2017, we started Bread in the Meadow out of our home kitchen under Minnesota's Cottage Food Exemption with the mission to provide good bread for our neighbors. Elizabeth bakes, Stephen does dishes, and the kids play and learn. Look for our bread at the Cloquet Farmers Market June-October in the Premier Theatres parking lot on Saturdays or join our email list to hear first about pre-orders, classes and special events.
Bread in the Meadow uses as many local, organic and fair-trade ingredients as possible. All our fruits have been grown by either ourselves or a farm local to the Twin Ports region, and we exclusively use fair-trade coffee and cocoa in our baked goods.
